Overview
This website receives, collects, and stores any information that you enter on our website or provide to us in any other way. In addition, we use cookies, Google Analytics, and similar tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page.


What do we collect?
We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile available publicly such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.) Sometimes products are offered with the use of affiliate links, (such as Amazon) and purchase data is collected through those transactions.


When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only. If you make a payment or transaction, we collect your payment details (including credit card information).

 

Information that we collect from third parties

i. Signups using federated authentication service providers: If you logged into a supported federated authentication service providers such as LinkedIn, Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter and Google, these services will authenticate your identity and collect personal information such as your name and email address.

 

ii. Information from our reselling partners and service providers: If you contact any of our reselling partners, or otherwise express interest in any of our products or services to them, the reselling partner may pass your name, email address, company name and other information to us. If you register for or attend an event that is sponsored by the author/press or affiliates, the event organizer may share your information with us. We may also receive information about you from review sites if you comment on any review of our products and services, and from other third-party service providers that we engage for marketing our products and services.

iii. Information from social media sites and other publicly available sources: When you interact or engage with us on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram through posts, comments, questions and other interactions, we may collect such publicly available information, including profile information, to allow us to connect with you, improve our products, or better understand user reactions and issues. We must tell you that once collected, this information may remain with us even if you delete it from the social media sites. We may also add and update information about you, from other publicly available sources.

 

iv. Information from giveaways or product distributors

Sites such as Bookfunnel, Instafreebie, Goodreads, or Amazon, etc. may host free products or services giveaways on behalf of the author or Timberlane Press. If data is collected during that interaction, they may pass your name, email address, social media information, location or other information to us. 

 

If you enter a third-party giveaway related or unrelated to the author, her brand, or Timberlane Press, we cannot be held responsible for data collected by that third party and have no knowledge of how they may or may not use the information collected, except that it may be passed on in full or part to us. At which point, the data given to us will be protected in the fashion described in this policy. But this protection extends only to the data we have received.

 

Why do we collect such personal information?

In addition to the purposes mentioned above, non-personal and personal information may be collected and stored for the following purposes::

  • To communicate with you (such as through email) about products that you have downloaded and services that you have signed up for, changes to this Privacy Policy, changes to the Terms of Use, Terms of Service, or important notices;

  • To keep you posted on new products and services, upcoming events, offers, promotions and other information that we think will be of interest to you;

This website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 


How do we store, use, share and disclose your personal information? 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

How do we communicate with you?

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, via email for select marketing campaigns, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes, we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.

 

How do you use cookies and other tracking tools?

Our website tracks personal information through the use of cookies, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixels, and similar applications in order to monitor purchasing habits, email marketing statistics, and browsing habits for the purpose of improving our services and products. We use temporary and permanent cookies to identify users of our services and to enhance user experience.
